About the Tournament

One swing at a time, we're changing the conversation.

We're building something Taylor would be proud of—a tournament that brings people together, supports mental health, and turns a great day of golf into real impact.

Our Story

The Taylor Sterk Classic was created by a group of family members and lifelong friends who wanted to honor someone who made a lasting impact on their lives and the people around him.

Taylor grew up in Atlanta and attended Christ the King School and St. Pius X Catholic High School. He went on to earn both his undergraduate and master's degrees from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. While at SIU, he worked as an assistant equipment manager, including a summer internship with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and volunteered at several ladies' professional golf and tennis events throughout the United States.

He was a caring and patient person who always found the good in people. Taylor had a special gift for making those around him happy, and his joy was contagious. He consistently put others before himself and became a "big brother" to many of his younger brother Hunter's friends, several of whom helped bring this event to life in his memory.

We're excited to bring people together on the course and celebrate Taylor's legacy with good golf, great company, and the fun atmosphere he loved!

Our Mission

To drive awareness, support, and open conversation around mental health through the unifying spirit of golf. By hosting our annual tournament, we aim to break down stigma, foster community, and raise critical funds for mental health programs that empower people to seek help, find hope, and build resilience. Together, we champion mental wellness one swing at a time.

We're here to bring people together for a great day of golf—and an even greater cause. Our tournament isn't just about the game; it's about starting real conversations around mental health. We're breaking the silence, building community, and raising support for programs that help people take care of their mental well-being. Because it's okay to not be okay—and no one should have to go it alone.

Our Vision

We envision a world where everyone feels empowered to talk openly about their mental health without fear or shame. Through our golf tournament and growing community, we aim to spark lasting change—where support is strong, stigma is gone, and mental wellness is part of everyday conversation, both on, but more importantly, off the course.
